Vibrant, biodegradable, and low impact dyes extracted from food waste

WHAT WE DO

Novel dyes using sustainable alternatives

SAGES is a pioneering start-up who have developed a sustainable extraction process to manufacture low impact, biodegradable, and non-polluting dyes from food waste.

WHY WE DO IT

Synthetic dyes are responsible for 20% of global wastewater

Derived from carbon intensive petroleum and coal tar, these dyes rely on non-biodegradable chemicals that are toxic, mutagenic, carcinogenic, and highly polluting. Their chemical dye effluent causes contamination, kills marine life, damages soil, and contaminates the food chain and drinking supply.

HOW WE DO IT

SAGES proprietary bio-chemical process isolates phytochemicals to extract industry ready powder dyes

Our dyes are available in a wide range of colours spanning pinks, blues, greens, yellows and purples and are all derived from non-edible food waste. These dyes are ready for industrial applications and have been tested across a range of industries from fashion and textiles to papers and inks.
